This was a fairly comfortable win against a Garw side that huffed and puffed but never really threatened where it mattered - in the final third.
The early exchanges were pretty even with Garw playing an offside game that our lads were having trouble against. We were the playing the right game on a small pitch by playing the ball early over the top of the Garw defence but, all too often, both Shane Williamson and Abdalla Sayed were making their runs too early and too straight and getting into offside positions.
We were forced to make a change after 20 minutes when a Garw player went into a challenge with Luke Sallis showing his studs and Luke had to be stretchered off with what turned out to be a broken ankle. Luke's bad luck with injuries just seems to go on and on. Niki Villars came on to take his place.
Five minutes later, we took the lead when Sean Matthews latched on to ball 25 yards out and lashed a fierce half volley just inside the post with the home 'keeper left grasping at air. We then increased our lead soon after when Shane Williamson finished of a fine 3 man move by slipping the ball under the advancing 'keeper.
Garw came more into the game in the second half and had possession for long spells but were never able to really penetrate our defence. The back four all played well with Ryan Hillier probably having his best game for the club.
Five minutes from the end we broke out of defence and Sean Matthews held off a strong challenge from a Garw defender to place the ball neatly past the goalkeeper to wrap up an
excellent 3-0 win.
