The Third Team plays a valuable role for the club, combining talented young players looking to break into senior football with more experienced players who can help the younger lads develop.
The team supports the Cwmbran Celtic Reserve team by helping to bring back to fitness players who are returning from injury and pushing players with sufficient capability onwards and upwards.
The team finished the 2008/9 season in fourth place in the Newport and District Premier Y but we're expecting bigger things this year.
We're hoping the side that we are currently assembling will help us win the league and cup double in 2009/10.
